Stamp Duty Land Tax, often shortened to SDLT, is a tax paid when buying residential property or land in England and Northern Ireland above certain thresholds.

How This Calculator Works

This calculator applies the current residential SDLT bands for England and Northern Ireland. First-time buyer relief is applied only where the purchase price is £500,000 or below. Additional properties are calculated with the usual 5 percentage point surcharge.
